Hi, I need the lead screw and bearings for x/y/z axis of the CNC. What is the length of "1/2" Lead Screw per inch (Steel)"?
Depending on the size of your CNC machine, it will vary the length required for your application. Please verify the CNC machine, and we can go into detail on the specific lengths or methods for the linear guide mechanics. We sell our ACME Screw (1/2" per inch), also our longest length of ACME Screw is 76-3/4".

I wired my vfd (2.2kw version) and tried test running the spindle. I configured to your specs on this website, only issue is we got an error code. Err 02, do you know what this is? OR have a list of error codes? Thank you
Can you provide the model number of your VFD? Yes, I have the "YL600 - 2S - 2K20" It just came with a small booklet that is all in Chinese...

I want to know when the second video on vfd (YL-600 2.2KW 220V) parameter will be available?
We will be starting that video shortly. We want to make sure we convey the information clearly. The parameters on the VFD are extremely extensive and is difficult to explain the parameters that will make sense to the average customer. We pride ourselves on making videos that send a clear message to customers and viewers that have never seen this technology before. Making an educational video of this topic is difficult.

I need info on connecting my vfd to run via mach3. Any videos please? Thanks.
I will be making a video on controlling the VFD via Mach3 shortly.

I have a water cooled spindle I only need the VFD drive. Does the VFD come with instrutction on hooking the VFD to Mach3?
The VFD does come with a manual that details the wiring and connection specifications, terminal features and a list of the parameters. There is no information on how to connect it to Mach3. It does detail the specifications within the parameters and terminal features on the analog input that is used with Mach3 and other control programs.

I have a 2.2KW Huan Yang Spindle. The VFD power supply unit will randomly shut down and show a short or overcurrent error message. The pins in the power supply plug are blackened and we saw arching between the pins... they seem too close. Aside from getting a new plug, are there any other remedies?
When you say pins in the power supply, are you referring to the terminals in the VFD itself? If so, this is a serious problem and you should consider insulating the conductors that connect to the terminals. Also, make sure they are clean and use a spade or ring terminal that fit easily within the space alotted for the spade/ring terminal. There may be additional damage in the VFD, so extra care should be taken.

Hello. I'm currently building my first CNC router, and I'm powering it with a 3 axis electronics kit that was purchased through your site. I chose to get the Mach 3 USB Breakout board, but now I'm wanting to try to use Linux CNC to work with the computer I have available. Will that work with this board?
The Mach3 USB will not work with Linux CNC. You can use our parallel breakout baord instead (if you have a computer that has a parallel port available). Here is the link to that interface: https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/electronicsAndMotors-parallel-breakout-relay

Hello what is the thread size of the water cooling fittings on the 2.2kw spindle? I am wondering if I can replace the fittings with standard pc liquid cooling fittings, which are G1/4".
They do have a similar looking thread as the G1/4, but I will confirm in the morning. We use the G1/4 on the pump and radiator so it will be easy to determine this fit when I get into the office. Additional Information: Another FAQ says it is an M8, but I will confirm. Additional Information: These are M8x1 thread. I was able to find M8x1 3/8 barb fittings on Ebay. I plan to drill and tap my spindle to G1/4 though.

Can Wood Dust in a VFD cause it to blow a bakelite component mounted on the heat sink in the lower part of the unit? Mine was a Huanyang 2.2 kw 220v 400HZ
Wood dust can cause problems in a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) like the Huanyang 2.2 kW 220V 400Hz unit. If wood dust gets inside the VFD, it can collect on important parts like the bakelite component on the heat sink. This can cause the part to get too hot because the dust traps the heat. When the bakelite component gets too hot, it can break. The dust can also block the airflow that helps to keep the VFD cool, making the heat problem worse. It's important to keep the VFD clean and away from wood dust to prevent these issues.

Are there instructions to disassemble the 2.2KW spindle (220v)? We need to replace the bearings.
We actually tried dissassembling one of our spindles in house with no success, but I just found a good thread on CNCZone that has a good set of photos and instructions. Here is the link: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/spindles-vfd/129454-water-cooled-chinese-spindle-disassembly.html Please let me know if this helps. Additional Information: Also, If you have no success, let us know and we will make an attempt here on video.

Are the VFDs and pumps compatible with the european electric circuit (230V/50Hz) and what kind of connectors will be delivered?
The VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) is not supplied with plugs, cable or connectors. You provide the cable and power plug or connector for the VFD. All you need to do is get an extension cable and expose the three wires of the cable and connect them to R, T and Ground. Please see the datasheet on this page for wiring information: https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/spindle-inverter-2!2kw-spindle-novfd Our pumps only have a 110 volt input, so you will need to purchase the pump in your country.

Can anti-freeze be used as a coolant for your 40W laser tube? I live where winter temperatures are below freezing and my CNC machine is in my unheated garage.
Using Anti-Freeze in the cooling system with either our spindle or our laser tubes will not have any problems and we recommend using a small amount in locations where temperature is freezing or below. Although we do not recommend using an entire gallon of anti-freeze rather just a small quantity with tap water will be sufficient. Additional Information: Additional Information: All last winter, the temperature was below freezing and sometimes below zero. I used 100% antifreeze for the spindle coolant. Worked great !! All the spindle needs is any type of coolant flowing through it to take the heat away. I use three gallons of antifreeze in a tub with a fish-tank pump to push the antifreeze through. 100% antifreeze works great in cold or hot winter. Additional Information: Excellent tip. Thank you for this correction. So it is OK to use antifreeze solely as a cooling method.

Can the 2.2k water cooled spindle have internally clogged water ways? Mine stopped passing water.
Yes, our spindles can get build up over time dependent on how clean you keep the water that will be cooling the spindle. We recommend replacing the water (tap water) every other week, unless you have a clear setup that has minimum amount of debris entry to your reservoir. Then we recommend every 2-3 weeks. To unclog we recommend using an air compressor to push as much debris out and then using the water pump to clear the remaining debris through running water. Additional Information: I have big problem with my water colling system on CNC. I think some things are internally clogged on water cooled spindle.. It's not debris, It's heavy than debris.. Please help me immediate if you can.. Additional Information: I have big problem with my water colling system on CNC. I think some things are internally clogged on water cooled spindle.. Can you control the spped of the 2.2 KW spindle using the breakout board and Mach3 soft ware?
Yes, you can control the speed of the 2.2 kW spindle, and the other spindles we sell, through Mach3 software. It requires making some changes to the settings in Mach3 and in your inverter. It also requires an additional part, which is called a USB to Serial Converter, found on our site here: https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/Interfaces-newbiehack-Interfaces-TTL232R-USB-UART-Serial I have some additional instructions, that I will send upon request, by email. I will also be adding a complete tutorial and video, to the website, on how to do this soon. Additional Information: 20

Does the 2.2 kilowatt spindle have an internal thermal cutout if it overheats because of failed pump?
The spindle does not provide feedback of temperature to the VFD (Variable Frequency Drive). The connection to the spindle is solely to drive the coils in the spindle. The VFD has many features, but is mainly to control the spindle at various frequencies and to be controlled by software. It is important to always monitor the pump's working condition so the spindle has sufficient cooling.

Im having a problem getting Mach 3 to control the spindle on and off
If you are using the Mach3 USB controller: Make sure to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi4M3DAtTXg If you are still having issues, make sure to confirm that you send the specific output you want to use to PORT 3. This is not mentioned in the video. If you are using OUT1 on the controller, make sure to remove that pin number from the Motor outputs (config -> ports & pins -> motor outputs) for the spindle line and set it up in the outputs (config -> ports & pins -> outputs). If you are using the Pokeys57CNC controller: Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SLFuM4tzuU
