4X4 Keypad there are 4 connections for the rows and 4 connection for the columns. Similar to a push button is array of keys are all tied together and will provide continuity with the rows and column. This allows the 16 key to be read using only 8 connections. The method to get the key pressed is to scan the rows and columns.
