Setup Instructions
- Install Mach3. Mach3 runs in Demo mode with limitations, or fully unlocked with an official license.
- Install the USB motion plugin. Copy the RnRMotion.dll file into your Mach3 Plugins folder. This is typically located at C:\Mach3\PlugIns.
- Connect the controller board to your computer with a USB cable.
- Load the configuration file. Save Mach3Mill.xml to your Mach3 root folder. Open Mach3 with the Mach3 Loader shortcut and pick Mach3Mill. The Profile box at the bottom right of the screen must say Mach3Mill.
- Select the controller plugin. When Mach3 prompts you, select RnRMotionController and check “Don’t ask me again” so Mach3 uses it automatically.
Important: the limit switches and the spindle-control section of the board require an additional power source. Do not assume the USB connection alone powers every external device connected to the board.
About the Mach3 Demo Limit
Mach3’s demo mode caps your G-code at 500 lines — enough to test with, not enough for real jobs. A full license removes the limit completely. Licenses are emailed to you, usually within a few hours of ordering.

Troubleshooting
- Mach3 doesn’t list the plugin: the RnRMotion.dll file isn’t in the Plugins folder. Double-check the path — it goes in Plugins, not the Mach3 root folder — then restart Mach3.
- Motors don’t move: the configuration file probably isn’t loaded. Mach3Mill.xml belongs in the Mach3 root folder. Re-save it there and reopen Mach3.
- Limit switches or spindle output don’t respond: those sections of the board need their own power supply — USB power alone isn’t enough.
- Board isn’t recognized: try a different USB cable and a port directly on the computer rather than a hub.
- Still stuck? If you bought the board from us, reply to your order email and we’ll help you through it.
